We are delighted to welcome YPARD new national representative for Indonesia: Muhammad Iqbal Firdaus.
Muhammad is a 22 year-old undergraduate student who is enrolled at the Faculty of Forestry of Bogor Agricultural University, Besides, he is an active board member of the Indonesian Green Action Forum (IGAF).
Within IGAF, he has initiated some agricultural and environmental projects which engage children, youth and local communities such as Climate Smart Agriculture, Climate Smart Forestry, IPB Green Festival, and Eco-Islamic School.
He was also appointed to be a social media volunteer for the Forests Asia Summit held by CIFOR Headquarters in May 2014 in Indonesia, and has been delegated by IGAF to attend the Climate Change Workshop held by the World Youth Foundation on May 21-24, 2015 in Malaysia.
Being YPARD national representative in Indonesia represents a new challenge for him in order for the youth to contribute to a transforming agriculture in Asia in general, and in Indonesia in particular.
“I feel very enthusiastic to take this responsibility and exchange mutual understanding about agriculture and environmental realms with other young professionals in my country.”
From the above experiences he harbored, Muhammad plans to build mutual connection with engaging young agriculturists in Indonesia, as well as to contribute to promote YPARD objectives and agricultural development in general. In addition, he will spearhead agri-activities with IGAF under YPARD’s auspice as a way to promote young initiatives for agricultural evolvement.
We can’t wait to hear more from the Youth-in-Agriculture in Indonesia and we trust that YPARD Indonesia will be successful in mobilizing the youth through Muhammad’s leadership.
