With funding by the UK government, the MECS Innovation Fund makes grants to accelerate the use of mobile technology to improve or increase access to water and energy by underserved communities. Seed grants up to £200 thousand support research and development of early-stage innovations using mobile for access to sustainable energy and water. Grants up to £350 thousand are for market validation (i.e., partnerships between mobile network operators and/or tower companies with community service providers of water and/or energy).
