Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) -- FLEGT in Non-VPA Countries

The FLEGT program (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance, and Trade) aims to improve policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks to reduce illegal logging and promote sustainable forest management in developing countries.  FLEGT currently calls for proposals from civil society, government institutions, and private sector organizations in eligible timber-producing countries not engaged in Voluntary Partnership Agreements (VPAs) with the EU.  Proposals should address one of eight thematic priorities.  Grants are up to €100 thousand, subject to a 20% co-share.  The deadline for applications (English, French, Spanish) is 21 April 2014.
