The African Development Foundation, in partnership with GE-Africa, support the "Power Africa Off-Grid Energy Challenge." The aim is to seek innovative off-grid solutions to serve the energy needs of under-served rural communities. The challenge is open to African-owned enterprises that provide renewable energy, and to African community organizations that acquire off-grid solutions (developed by a company that could be African or not) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Kenya, Nigeria, and Tanzania. Grants are up to US$100 thousand. Proposals need to be submitted before 20 June 2014.
