Transferable Skills Training for Successful Doctoral Students - Global and Local Perspectives

The course will cover some of the essential skills and competences required for all doctoral students to succeed in their studies, allowing participants to join a regional network while gaining global and local perspectives in an interdisciplinary context.

The three main section of the course are as follows:

When? 18 August – 5 September 2014

Where? Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.

Who can participate? Doctoral students in the area of Global Food Security (all disciplinary fields) from the following universities will be prioritized:

  • Makerere University (Uganda),
  • SLU (Sweden),
  • National University of Rwanda (Rwanda),
  • Sokoine University (Tanzania)
  • Jomo Kenyatta University (Kenya).

Applicants from other universities are accepted if places are available. Participants will be selected based on distribution between universities, engagement with issues of global food security and seeking a gender balance.

Costs? The project will cover the costs for travel, housing, and meals during the course.
