The CGIAR's program on Water, Land, and Ecosystems will fund research that addresses ecosystem services and agricultural development in the Nile Basin and East Africa. Priority areas of interest are: (i) The impact of infrastructure development (dams, roads, irrigation, etc.) on ecosystems and agriculture; (ii) Achieving sustainable land management in highly degraded areas; and (iii) The role of women and youth in agricultural intensification and ecosystem management.
Funding is open to all institutions interested in research for development in the Nile Basin and East Africa. The maximum grant per project is US$700 thousand for two years.
