The UNU's Institute for Water, Environment, and Health (UNU-INWEH) offers an MSc program jointly with several partner institutions. The program is designed to enhance the capacity of developing countries to manage their drylands resources, and to provide young professionals with an international perspective on resource management in drylands. Upon completion of the course work and approval of the research proposal, students carry out their field research in coordination with one of the partner organizations. On a competitive basis, the program offers a limited number of fellowships to qualified candidates from developing countries.
