The EC's Directorate for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MARE) will fund projects to develop innovative low-impact offshore fishing practices for small-scale vessels in Europe's outermost regions (i.e., certain islands, departments, and territories of Spain, Portugal, and France). The grants program is open to public authorities; research centers; universities; educational institutions; private bodies; and non-profit organizations based in EU member states. Legal entities having a legal or capital link with applicants may participate as affiliated entities.
