The GDN annually makes awards to recognize excellence in development projects and research that benefit the low-income and middle-income countries of the developing world. The Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP) will be given to three development projects and/or NGOs to scale up their projects, with a first prize of US$30 thousand. The Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development (ORD) will fund three research proposals on defined themes. The first prize in ORD is US$30 thousand. The closing date for both MIDP and ORD is 15 January 2016.
