The Empowering People Award is a global call to engineers and developers to submit practical innovations that contribute to improved living conditions for people in developing and emerging countries, and that can be implemented in an entrepreneurial model. Categories include water and waste water; energy; food and agriculture; waste management; and several others. Prizes are €50 thousand (first); €30 thousand (second); €20 thousand (third); and 20 prizes of €5 thousand each. The extended deadline for submissions is 15 January 2016.
