The Rockefeller Foundation funds the "100 Resilient Cities Centennial Challenge" to help 100 cities worldwide cope with natural and man-made urban shocks and stresses. These include shocks and stresses of an environmental type such as climate change, water scarcity, waste accumulation, and others. Applicants are municipal governments (the priority), as well as major institutions that have a predominant affiliation or association with the applicant city. The winners of the challenge receive financial and technical assistance to develop and implement resilience plans for their cities. The application deadline is 24 November 2015.
