The CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Cereals aims to increase research on barley, finger millet, pearl millet, and sorghum. The program offers research grants to doctoral students registered in RUFORUM's Regional PhD Programs. Grants are up to US$15 thousand over two years to fund student research, support supervision, thesis writing and related publications, and reporting back to the communities where the research was done.
