David and Lucile Packard Foundation -- Indonesia Peat Prize

The carbon released from the degradation of peat soils in Indonesia is one of the world's largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. The Packard Foundation is partnering with Indonesia's Geospatial Information Agency and the World Resources Institute to offer the US$1 million Peat Prize to persons and organizations able to develop accurate and efficient approaches to map the country's peat soils. Individuals and teams from around the world can join with Indonesian partners. Potentially interested applicants need to register during February through May 2016.
