The Asia Foundation invites proposals from civil society organizations in South Asia to promote transboundary cooperation addressing water issues related to the pressures on the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra rivers. These issues include population growth, industrial development, urbanization, ecological degradation, natural disasters, and climate change. The grants program is open to national and international nonprofit organizations based in any of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, and Pakistan. Proposals must address actions in two or more countries. The Asia Foundation prefers proposals sent by partnerships, networks, and other consortia. There will be five grants ranging from US$150 thousand to US$450 thousand, plus 15 grants up to US$150 thousand. The application deadline is 22 March 2016.
