The Sida PFAN Initiative on Clean Energy Financing (SPICEF) offers early-stage pro bono project support to raise finance for projects in clean energy. The current call for proposals is open to innovative projects in clean energy in Dem Rep Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. SPICEF seeks business opportunities that require total initial private capital over US$1 million (or currency equivalent). Proposals that primarily request grant funding are not eligible, although proposals may include elements of grant, donor, and / or subsidized funding to enhance the investment proposition. The closing date for proposals is 08 May 2016.
