The AAV makes grants for research addressing bird health. Grants are up to US$10 thousand for projects on companion birds, and up to US$5 thousand for projects on wild birds. For research on wild birds, projects of interest include but are not limited to epidemiology of disease in wild populations, ecotoxicology, diagnostic testing and treatment of wild birds, and conservation medicine.
