Located at the University of Rwanda, the African Center of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development addresses key economic challenges resulting from low rural energy access, poor adoption of energy technologies in rural areas, and poor inter-state energy trading in Eastern and Southern Africa. The Centre invites research-oriented students to apply for PhD positions in the fields and specializations of renewable energy; electrical power systems; and energy economics. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis for eligible candidates from Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
