The Toyota Foundations Research Grant Program is titled Exploring New Values for Society. It supports ambitious projects that adopt a panoramic view of the world and look generations into the future in order to explore basic ways of thinking and methodologies to address difficult issues to be faced by future society; issues that are on a global scale; issues that transcend generations; and nascent problems that will only fully manifest themselves in the future. The program offers joint research grants (i.e., for team research), and individual research grants. Several past grants have focused on issues of climate, environment, biodiversity, and related topics. Applications are unrestricted by nationality, residence, and affiliation.
