Welcoming YPARD new Web4knowledge intern: Gwladys Mabah

YPARD is delighted to welcome Gwladys Mabah as YPARD new Web4Knowledge intern. Gwladys will be working some 15 hours a week remotely from Cameroon, on posting information on YPARD website and disseminating it through YPARD different social media channels -on Facebook page and group, LinkedIn page and group, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest-.

Gwladys is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Yaoundé II (Cameroon), where she is a member of a research group on economics, environment and agrifood. Her main interests are food security, sustainable development, climate change and innovations systems in agriculture.

Gwladys advocates for a participatory approach in youth and agricultural policies' design and implementation. "Youth have the knowledge and know-how to bring in as inputs in agricultural development as well as a lot of energy, willingness and creativity", she argues.

During one year, Gwladys was a research assistant at the National Polytechnic High School of the University of Yaoundé I. She participated in the project TECHNIPEDIA, a virtual platform that aims to promote youth entrepreneurship. Afterwards, she joined YPARD in 2013 as a local representative for YPARD Cameroon.

Gwladys is highly interested in informing and empowering young professionals in agriculture using web and social media. She has showed strong insights on how ICTs can serve YPARD objective and a better participation of the youth in Agricultural Research for Development.

"YPARD is an international platform where young professionals in agriculture and related sciences can connect with other peers, share their ideas and initiatives for agricultural development, advocate and raise their voice to policy makers. This is why I am very happy to be part of this network not only as a local representative but also as the Web4knowledge intern for the next months.

I am willing to contribute to the management and dissemination of information, as well as to the extension of the network services on YPARD's platform. I am committed and ready to promote all the opportunities related to agriculture, as well as to engage more young professionals in agriculture for sustainable development."

Welcome on Board, Gwladys!
