You don’t even have to be in the room…

Last night, this room was empty. Today, this hall is hosting the biggest names in agricultural research and sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region.

The High Level Policy Dialogue on Investment in Agricultural Research for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific, organized by various international agriculture research and policy organizations, is a two-day event. The meeting is being held to underline the importance of investment in agricultural research and to address the pressing needs in this area.

In the past, you would not have been able to participate in this forum if you could not attend  in person. But social media has changed that. Under the tutelage of social media expert, Peter Casier, a group of people working in fields related to agriculture and sustainable development, was given a crash course on various social media tools and how to use the right one to reach your target audience.

By keeping tabs on the hashtag #GCARD3 , you will be able to see live updates from the event. You can also follow GFAR’s blog to read up on the events transpiring today and tomorrow. You can also actively participate by commenting and posting questions on the blog.

Gone are the days where you had to be physically present to be able to participate. Nowadays, you don’t even have to be in the room.
