The African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS) is soliciting the services of a qualified and experienced Communications and Engagement Media Junior Expert (Consultant) to support the communication function and therefore contribute to the achievement of the AFAAS goals and objectives. Its socio-economic and legal recognition at both a national and international level is crucial to achieving world food security and halting the drastic decline in agriculture-related jobs. Such recognition constitutes the basis of any professional commitment
This video was shot during the making of a participatory video in Telecho village, Ethiopia. It is meant to show in 10 easy steps the process used during this participatory video training. We trained 14 youth age 14- 16 that have no access to electricity and TV to hold a camera, speak on a microphone and do interviews, making their own film.

CTA, with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB), in collaboration with the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and other partners, is launching Pitch AgriHack 2018. Each winning start-up will benefit from a grant of up to 15,000 euros.
Israels Agency for International Development (MASHAV) offers professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, health, education, and social development. MASHAV offers a limited number of scholarships to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. The course Agribusiness: A Tool for the Empowerment of Rural Women addresses gender equality and the empowerment of women, as well as economic and social development strategies in rural areas. The course is for policymakers and professionals of the public and private sector, involved in the implementation of agricultural and rural development projects. Additionally, MASHAV offers professional courses in Spanish and Russian languages. Deadline for applications is 28 December 2017.
MASHAV awards a limited number of scholarships. The scholarship covers the cost of the training program including lectures and field visits, full board accommodation in double rooms (two participants per room), health insurance (see below) and transfers from and to the airport. Airfares and daily allowance are not included in the scholarship.
