About Me: |
I am a Chilean researcher currently working as a PhD candidate at the Chair of Silviculture at Albert-Ludwigs University, Freiburg, Germany. I hold an M.Sc. in Life Sciences, Applied Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, with a major in Value Chains and Rural Development from Bern University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland, and a Bachelor in Agricultural Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC).
My research interest relates to rural development, peasant studies, small-scale agriculture, natural resource management, and rural extension systems. Carrier brief 2014-2018: Consultant on Rural Development projects at UNIQUE forest and land use (Germany), HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (Myanmar), Latin American Centre for Rural Development (RIMISP) and Agraria Professional Consultancy (Chile). 2012-2014: Extension agent and leader of the Local Development Program (PRODESAL) at the National Institute of Agricultural Development (INDAP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Chile. 2009-2010: Technical agronomist at the private agricultural sector in Chile. PhD dissertation project "Stimulating small-scale farmers' performance through contextual interventions: Lessons from the province of San Martin in Peru". |
