Elcah BarasaYPARD is delighted to welcome Elcah Barasa on board, as remote Web4Knowledge intern.

Elcah Barasa is a young woman from Kenya. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy at the Technical University of Kenya and a Diploma in French at Alliance Francaise in Nairobi.

Elcah has great interests in ICT for Development issues, rural development and youth employment. Having been born and bred in Kitale, the country’s bread basket, she has learnt about farming fast hand. Elcah runs a blog through which she shares her thoughts on all these issues. She hopes to merge her interests and academics to impact on the world.

Elcah was voted to best female blogger in the YOBLOCO awards organized by CTA. She has participated in social media reporting in several international conferences and she was among 100 Kenyans selected to represent their counties in making a case for the COP 21 conference scheduled for late this year in Paris France. Recently, Elcah was contracted as the YPARD blogger for the mentoring program being piloted in Kenya.

Elcah joins YPARD full of dreams; as an intern, she hopes to kick start her career in the international arena. She will spend the initial time learning about YPARD and then actively be part of the team steering it towards the attainment of its mission. Elcah hopes to use her knowledge in international relations and her interests – which are directly linked with YPARD to create a niche for herself. She will use her expertise in blogging and writing to promote the YPARD’s agenda and learn about posting and promoting information online. She looks forward to expanding her networks internationally while honing her skills and becoming a better person.

Welcome, Elcah!
