E-learning course towards a successful network management
Networks create a number of benefits for their members and stakeholders, contributing to the overall mission of sustainable development. By networking organizations and individuals have the opportunity to test new ideas and innovative solutions and to develop synergies. Networks are catalysts for establishing partnerships and for having up to date information and know-how. Networks achieve good results if they are committed to professional management.
Effective network management implies careful facilitation to ensure effective and efficient communication flows between members, who often have different cultural and language backgrounds. It also means to know how to plan activities with colleagues that are geographically dispersed and how to set up the governance structure of a complex system.
SKAT and sba designed an E-learning Network Management Course for formal networks to provide network practitioners with the tools and skills to respond to such challenges. The course is based on conceptual and methodological understandings of network management. Different theoretical and practical e-learning tools will be used to achieve this goal.
As highlighted by a former course participant: “The course methods adjust to different participants located in different places and time zones. The E-learning platform allowed us to meeting new peers from other countries and exchange valuable information and experience”.
The course will start on September 14 and will last until the 20 of November 2009. It is designed for a group of approximately 25 participants. As a selection process will take place, candidates are requested to fill out a registration form and send it including an updated CV and a motivation letter by 31 of July 2009.
