The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) invites submissions of short films for the 2nd African Agricultural Film Festival. We are looking for short films (5-10 minutes) on innovations in agricultural research and development. The festival will take place from 15 July to 16 July 2013 in Accra, Ghana as part of the events of the Sixth Africa Agriculture Science Week and FARA General Assembly.
The purpose of the film festival is to share visual evidence of innovations (technologies, processes, practices) that have made a positive impact on food and nutrition security in Africa in the past 3 years (since 2010). Submissions are open to both amateur and professional communication practitioners.

Note that only online applications and films submitted online will be considered. Please see the attached submission guidelines for more details. Producers of the top three films will be announced by July 9, 2013 and will be fully sponsored to attend the film festival and prize giving ceremony in person.
Producers of the top three films will be notified by Tuesday 9th July, 2013 by email or telephone. Winners will be fully supported to attend the film festival to take place on 16th July 2013 and the rest of the 6th Agriculture Science Week in Accra, Ghana, until 20th July 2013. They will also be presented with a certificate of recognition and a prize during the Business Meeting of the FARA General Assembly.
The top eight shortlisted videos will be shown during the Film Festival. All other eligible videos will be published online and made publicly accessible.
