Proposals should address:

  1. Socio-economic modeling related to climate change;
  2. The underlying science of climate change; or
  3. Climate change and water.

(Editor's observation:  These fields are sufficiently broad to include aspects of climate change in relation to agriculture for development.)

IPCC will give priority to applications from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Awards are a maximum of US$20 thousand per year.

IPCC describes its eligibility criteria, fields of study, and how to apply. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2012.
