Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - Food Choice in Developing Countries

In partnership with the UK's Department for International Development (DFID), the Gates Foundation invites applications to manage a competitive small grants program that will deliver a deeper understanding of the drivers of food choice among the poor in developing countries. 

It is expected that one organization will design and competitively tender a research call, and will award and manage up to 15 small research grants to sub-grant recipients. The sub-grantees will conduct research that will contribute to improved knowledge of food choices, thereby enhancing the ability of national programs and policies in agriculture, nutrition, and health. The deadline for concept memos is 01 August 2014.
