U.S. Department of State -- Wildlife Law Enforcement in Central America and Dominican Republic

The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State offers support to increase public participation in the enforcement of wildlife laws and the reduction of illegal wildlife trade in the countries of the CAFTA-DR (Dominican Republic-Central America-United States Free Trade Agreement). The goal is to increase public awareness, provide education, and promote new economic opportunities as alternatives to wildlife trafficking in the Dominican Republic and at least two other countries of the CAFTA region: Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Eligibility for funding extends to non-profit NGOs, educational institutions, and public international organizations. The program will make one grant up to US$250 thousand. Funding Opportunity OES-OTE-16-004. The application deadline is 01 June 2016.
