Research Officer – Youth Livelihoods Consortia Applied Research Lead.

ODI is seeking to appoint a talented and dynamic Research Officer that will contribute to the Research and Policy in Development Group with the aim to develop, fundraise for, conduct and manage policy relevant, high-quality and innovative research, policy advice and public affairs programmes, broadly within the Institute’s overall strategy and with the aim of inspiring and informing policy.

As such, the successful applicant will be leading the Applied Research component of the MasterCard Foundation Youth Livelihoods Consortia Learning Partnership that will focus on identifying the principal push and pull factors driving youth engagement in and out of farming, migration (rural/urban) and employment (seasonal/informal/formal) patterns

The research will also examine how broader national and global sector contexts shape opportunities and impose constraints on local industries and the potential for youth employment.

The applicant will be required to have the following; a degree and post-graduate degree in social sciences, experience in conducting primary data , experience in producing research outputs in a short period of time and for different audiences ,experience in working with young adults(15-24) and excellent analytical and writing skills, Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis, which may include overnight and weekends on occasion.  See more at https://jobs.odi.org.uk/VacancyInformation.aspx?VId=24193
