Suresh graduated with distinction in Tropical agriculture and undertook his Masters in Environmental Resource Management and a PhD in Biogeochemistry at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Suresh’s PhD project involved quantifying gaseous soil carbon losses in managed pastures and arable crops of Ireland. Hailing from an active farming background, Suresh worked exclusively on agronomic management of cereal, horticultural and commercial crops and associated soil and water conservation measures of the semi-arid landscape in India. He was also involved in controlled environment experiments and participated in field campaigns for collecting and evaluating various landraces for sustainable farming in various agroclimatic zones of India, a joint programme initiative supported by the UK govt., part funded by the Irish govt. Outside work Suresh is keen on squash, cycling and particularly enjoys politics, cooking and travel.
