The race to feed the world’s population has started, Preeti Ahuja, Sector Manager for the World Bank, told those gathered at a Side Event of the 43rd session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). The topic of the event, “Policies for Effective Rural Transformation, Agricultural and Food System Transition” is based on this indisputable fact.

The National Agriculture and Food Exhibition and Fair (OMÉK) is the largest agricultural event in Hungary, with a history of more than 100 years. We will be holding it for the 78th time between 20-24 September 2017.

OMÉK with its 950 exhibitors and 100 thousand visitors is the biggest Hungarian Exhibition in Agriculture and Food topics, and one of the biggest one in Europe. There are a lot of opportunities to make business here not only on the Trade’ Day but during the 5 days of the exhibition as well.

Based on the success of the previous Young Innovation Brokers for Visegrad Countries (YIBROVIC) training, the Summer School aims to draw together V4 students in order to educate young innovation brokers, able to mediate the purchased knowledge of agricultural innovations in Visegrad countries.

EFITA/WCCA/CIGR 2015 is a joint conference of three associations: European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture, Food and the Environment (EFITA), International Network for Information Technology in Agriculture – World Congress on Computers in Agriculture (INFITA – WCCA) and International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering – Technical Section VII: Information Technology (CIGR VII). All these associations deal with the use of ICT in the agri-food, bioresource and biomass sectors.

The main objective of the conference is to promote the exchange of experiences among non-profit, research and business professionals, as well as the development of the international relations. The event provides a forum for agriculture involved practical and academic players, to discuss the actual questions of education, research, development and application of Information Technologies in Agriculture and Rural Development with publishing the recent results. The official languages of the conference are English and Hungarian (without translation). The meeting covers a broad range of topics, as follows.

Both kinds of submissions will have the same process and the accepted papers will be included in the same proceedings. The videoconference service will be provided by the Hungarian National Information Infrastructure service.
