Did you know that the Global Landscape Forum (GLF) which is the worlds largest, science-led multi-sectoral platform will hold an event in Ghana this year?
Representatives from the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL), the Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD) and the International Forestry Students Association (IFSA) met in Accra in the month of March to brainstorm and discuss what inputs would further enrich this years event so participants make the most out of the series of activities.
The GLF platform engages stakeholders through global, regional and local events; national policy dialogues; and online digital summits round the calendar. One of the forums upcoming events slated for October this year is set to come off in Ghana, West Africa and thousands of participants from various parts of the globe are expected to partake of the event both onsite and online. GLF Ghana 2019 like previous GLF events will comprise discussion forums, plenaries, talks on the sustainability of landscapes and digital summits.
Expectantly, a youth event will be held before the GLF under the label, The Landscape Experience. As part of the plan, the youth get to pay visits to communities in which there are successful sustainable projects with respect to landscapes have been successfully carried out.
